Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 27, 2026
At ShortParse ("we", "our", or "us"), accessible from https://www.shortparse.com, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by ShortParse and how we use it.
If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us or join our Discord community.
1. Information We Collect
ShortParse collects information in order to provide automated Warcraft Logs raid summaries and guild dashboard insights.
- Warcraft Logs API & Public Data: We access public and user-authorized Warcraft Logs report details (including fights, combat actor names, items, spec, class, and damage/healing events) using the Warcraft Logs API to generate performance coaching scorecards.
- OAuth Credentials: When you log in with Warcraft Logs, we securely retrieve your user ID, guild association data, and public avatar information. We do not receive or store your Warcraft Logs password.
- Discord Integration Data: If you configure a Discord Webhook in your Settings, we store the webhook URL securely in our database solely for the purpose of posting raid summaries to your server when requested.
- Local Cookies & Sessions: We use signed session cookies (
shortparse_session) to maintain authentication states and secure user sessions.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data in the following ways:
- To compile, format, and generate highly encouraging raid coaching reviews.
- To populate the Guild Logs Hub, showing recent reports from your associated guilds.
- To dispatch automated summary embeds to Discord channels via user-configured webhooks.
- To rate-limit, monitor API usage, and maintain secure, reliable performance of our servers.
3. Data Caching and Storage
To ensure quick page loads and avoid excessive stress on the Warcraft Logs API:
- Report analyses are processed and temporarily cached on our secure servers.
- Cached analyses are associated with their respective Warcraft Logs report codes (e.g.
/report/[reportCode]) and can be viewed dynamically by anyone with whom you share the report link. - Guild configuration data and user dashboard sessions are stored in an encrypted database.
4. Data Protection & Security
We take the security of your data seriously. We use secure HTTPS protocols for all traffic, employ industry-standard OAuth authentication mechanisms directly integrated with Warcraft Logs, and store critical credentials (like Discord webhooks) in a secure database structure. No method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, but we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information.
5. Third-Party Links & Services
Our service links to third-party sites including Warcraft Logs and Discord. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices or contents of these external services. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
7. Contact Us
